Taking a Week Off: How to Reach Crawl Logic While I'm Away

Introduction

Out of Office Until July 7th

STILL AVAILABLE FOR QUOTES AND SCHEDULING

I'm at Indian Shores, Florida for the next seven days with my family. First real break I've taken in a while.

I'm holding off on inspections until July 7th, but I'm not going dark. If you need a rough quote or want to get something scheduled for when I'm back, I can help with that.

Running your own business means you're never really off the clock. But I can at least step back a little bit and spend some time with the people who matter most.

If you need to reach me this week, here's how to do it.

How to Reach Me This Week

Text me first. That's the best way to get in touch. My number is 615-540-2278.

I can send you a rough ballpark quote so you're not waiting a full week to get some idea of what you're looking at. I can also get you on the schedule for an inspection after July 7th when I'm back in Nashville.

I'm not taking phone calls all day long. I'm spending time with my family. But I'll set aside time each day to return messages and help people out.

If you call and I don't pick up, just send a text. I'll get back to you as soon as I'm able to.

  • A basement with a lot of insulation and a light on the ceiling.

  • A basement with a lot of pipes and columns

  • An empty basement with a wooden ceiling and white walls.

Why Small Business Owners Need Time Off

I don't take many vacations. When you're the owner, the inspections guy, and the person answering the phone, it's hard to step away.

But you can't run on empty forever. If I'm burned out, I'm not doing my best work. I'm not giving homeowners the attention they deserve. And I'm definitely not present for my family.

This week is about recharging. Spending time with my wife and kids. Remembering why I work as hard as I do in the first place.

Taking a break doesn't mean I don't care about the business. It means I care enough to make sure I'm at my best when I come back.

What Makes Owner-Operated Different

When you call Crawl Logic, you get me. Not a call center. Not a salesperson who's going to hand you off to someone else. Just me.

That's one of the big differences between a small, owner-operated company and the big corporate outfits. You have direct access to the person who's actually doing the work.

The trade-off is that sometimes I need to take a week off. I don't have a team of ten people covering for me. It's just me running the show.

But that also means when I'm back, you're getting my full attention. You're getting someone who cares about the outcome because it's my name on the truck.

  • A man is working in a basement under construction.

What to Expect When I Get Back

July 7th, I'm back to the full schedule. Inspections resume. I'll be catching up on quotes, returning calls, and getting people taken care of.

If you reach out this week, we'll get something on the calendar. If you're not in a rush, we can wait until I'm back and go from there.

Either way, I'll make sure you're taken care of. That's the whole point of doing this my way.

If You Have an Emergency

Here's the reality - most crawl space issues aren't true emergencies. They feel urgent because you just discovered them, but they've probably been building for a while.

If you're seeing standing water, if something smells really bad, if your floors are sagging - yeah, those need attention. But they can usually wait a few days without causing major damage.

If it's something that absolutely can't wait until I'm back, be honest with yourself about what that means. A wet crawl space that's been wet for months can probably hold on another week. A sump pump that just failed might need quicker attention.

Use your best judgment. If you're not sure, text me and describe what's going on. I'll let you know if it's something that needs immediate help or if we can handle it when I get back.

Enjoying Time With Family

I started this business so I could do things my way. Part of that means being available to customers. The other part means making time for the people who support me every single day.

My family deals with me being on the phone at dinner. They deal with me leaving early for inspections and coming home late covered in dirt. They're part of this business whether they're under a house or not.

So this week, I'm soaking up some sun, sipping on pina coladas, and spending time with the people who make all of this possible.

I'll be back on July 7th ready to get back to work. But for now, I'm enjoying the break.

And if you're a homeowner in Nashville or the surrounding areas and you need honest crawl space work done right, we'll be back at it next week.

Enjoy your Fourth of July. I'll see you when I get back.

I just left a house in Clarksville where the homeowner couldn't sleep. He thought his house was going to fall down. Another company had quoted him forty thousand dollars for foundation repair. They walked through his crawl space, pointed at some cracks, and told him he needed work done immediately. He was terrified.

We just finished a job in Mount Juliet that didn't go the way I wanted it to. It was a tough one from the start. Heavy structural repair, rough conditions, one of the harder jobs we've done this year. We got it done, but when we stepped back and looked at it, we were about 90% satisfied. There was a 10% section that t
